What is “Road Riddles”?
This event is a fun clue-finding game that you will complete via car around our community. You will receive a list of clues of varying types and difficulty to work with your group in the car to figure out the mystery locations. Then you’ll travel – safely via car – to the locations. You must take a photo at each place with your Road Riddles participation sign (sent to you with the clue booklet) and receive points for each that you solve correctly. Maximum points will be entered to win a Grand Prize!
Is this a family event? Or adults only?
Your choice! Every participating car will receive a set of clues, as well as an I Spy photo game and a roadside Bingo game. The Bingo, especially, is designed for young children. A majority of the clues are written at a tween/teen/adult level.
How do you win?
Points are earned for each clue you solve correctly. Each time you solve a clue, you will email 1 photo at that location to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your Road Riddles sign (included with your clue booklet) must be shown in the photo at each guessed location. We will accept all emailed submissions of clue solutions until noon on Saturday, March 13 – no rush! All participants that earn the maximum level of points will be entered into a prize raffle. Earning the maximum points will require you to work together and solve the clues, but if you do, you can achieve it! Winners will be announced on the PTO website a few days after the event.
Is this safe?
Yes – you will participate only with those in your own car. If you happen upon a clue location at the same time as another car and decide to get out of your car, please wear a mask and keep at least 6 feet distance. You can also take your photos from inside your car! And, all participants are asked to sign a waiver which includes agreeing to observe the rules of the road during the event.
When is the event?
The event is Friday, March 12 beginning at 6pm. You will receive everything you need via email before then, and can depart from your home to begin solving clues at that time. We will accept all emailed submissions of clue solutions until noon on Saturday, March 13 – no rush!
What does this fundraiser support?
Your registration fee contributes to the funds the PTO can provide for the cultural arts program at New Eagle Elementary School. We are also proud to support local businesses in our community through this event.
