New Eagle Elementary School is offering After School Teacher Clubs for the Winter 2012. After school clubs will meet on their specified day of the week from 3:20 to 4:20 pm for six weeks beginning the week of January 16th, 2012.. There are club offerings for all ages, Kindergarten through 4th grade. Participation in the clubs requires submission of a registration form (available online) and payment of the registration fee of $40.00 per club. Your registration is not complete without a completed registration form and payment. Please pay online with Paypal or send a check made payable to New Eagle PTO to “PTO Clubs” and it will go into our school mailbox.
The deadline for registration is Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Students may register for more than one club.
Club participation is absolutely optional. Students should plan to attend all 6 weeks. There is no proration of fees. The following is a descriptions of the club that will be offered this winter:
Environmaniacs Nature Club (Wednesdays After School)
Leader, Mrs. Robinson ---> Grade levels: K-4th
Description: This club will promote an appreciation, investigation, and preservation of our environment. It hopes to instill the idea that we are responsible for the Earth’s future. The club activities will include creating birdfeeders for the winter, litter clean-up around outside of school and river area, lessons about hibernation and migration (being the winter session), planting of sunflowers to take home, and discussions of how to conserve the environment. Club will meet on stage at 3:15pm, then walk down to classroom 111.
Storytelling Club (Wednesdays After School)
Leader, Mrs. Wituschek ---> Grade levels: 3rd and 4th
Description: This club will help children learn how to act out/tell stories. They will learn how to capture an audience’s attention while learning public speaking and story writing skills. The students will be working through a storytelling activity book, “Storytelling Discoveries”. The students will practice delivering stories individually and in groups. They will be practicing several creative arts in this club, such as drama, creative writing, art, and public speaking. This club will give students the confidence to share in front of an audience.
Yoga Club (Mondays After School)
Leader, Mrs. Wituschek ---> Grade levels: 1st-4th
Description: The students would learn basic yoga moves. Mrs. Wituschek is experienced in teaching yoga to young children in the past, and it is very enjoyable and beneficial for them. The students would need to bring a mat or a beach towel. They would also need to wear stretchy/movable clothing (spandex, gym shorts, etc…) (would start 1/23/12 because of the holiday)
Registration Guidelines
1.The club will meet once a week for 6 weeks (from 3:20 to 4: 20pm beginning January 16th (Yoga Club begins January 23rd.
2.Participation in the club requires submission of a registration form (available online) and payment of the registration fee of $40.00 per club. No registrations will be accepted without payment. Please use one form per child.
3. Registration deadline is January 17th, 2012.
4.If the number of registrations exceeds the 25, then participant placement will be determined by lottery. If your child is not placed, then a full refund will be returned to you.
5.Please mark your selections. You may register for more than one club if desired. For clubs that fall on the same day, please indicate your preference(i.e., 1st choice or 2nd choice)
6.You will be notified by email of your child’s registration status.
